Welcome all new and returning students

The 2008-09 academic year is shaping up to be an exciting and eventful time for Graduate Communications Design at Pratt. I am proud to join you as the new Chair of the Department, and will do what I can to make this a great educational experience for you. Here you will have access to superb professors who bring years of professional experience and success into the classroom, at one of the premier art institutions in the country, located in the most dynamic city in the world.

Many of you are here to further your career in the design industry, or begin a journey towards design education. For all of you, graduate school will be the opportunity to develop and refine your design process and skills leading to professional competence.

But I strongly believe that, first and foremost, graduate school is the time for you to discover your design voice. Once you find it, scream.
